How Much Does a Digital Business Card Cost in 2026? Subscription vs Lifetime

By Published Updated 7 min read

Short answer

In 2026, individual premium digital business card plans cost about $6 to $8 per month, or $72 to $96 per year. Over five years that is $360 to $480. A lifetime plan such as Lifetime vCard Pro costs $89 once and breaks even in 11 to 15 months.

Most people compare digital business card apps by their monthly price. That is the wrong number. A business card is something you keep for years, so the number that matters is the total you pay over the time you actually use it. Once you look at it that way, the cheapest-looking option is often the most expensive.

The three ways digital business cards are priced

  1. Free plans: a basic card with limited branding, capped features and the vendor logo. Good for trying the format, rarely enough for business use.
  2. Subscriptions: the most common model. You pay monthly or yearly for premium features like lead capture, custom branding and analytics. When you stop paying, those features switch off.
  3. Lifetime (one-time) plans: you pay once for a defined set of features that stay included. This is how paper business cards have always worked.

What the popular subscription apps charge

These are the publicly listed individual premium tiers we checked in October 2026. Annual billing is usually a little cheaper, but you still pay every year.

App and planPer monthPer yearOver 5 years
Popl Pro$7.99$95.88$479.40
Blinq Premium$7.33$87.96$439.80
HiHello Professional$6.00$72.00$360.00
Lifetime vCard Pron/a$89 once$89

The costs that do not show up on the pricing page

The headline monthly price is only part of the bill. Before choosing a plan, check for these:

  • Physical cards sold separately: many subscription apps charge an extra $20 to $60 for proprietary plastic cards on top of their monthly fee.
  • Feature gating: lead capture, removing the vendor logo or CRM export often sit on a higher tier than the one advertised.
  • Per-seat team pricing: team plans multiply the monthly cost by every employee, every month.
  • Switching cost: if you cancel, premium features stop working on cards you have already handed out.

When does a lifetime plan pay for itself?

Divide the one-time price by the monthly subscription you would otherwise pay. For Lifetime vCard Pro at $89, that is about 11 months against Popl Pro, 12 months against Blinq Premium and 15 months against HiHello Professional. After that, every month is money you keep.

For a sales team of 10 people, the difference grows fast. Ten subscriptions at $7 per month cost $4,200 over five years. Ten Lifetime vCard Team seats cost $390, once.

When a subscription still makes sense

Subscriptions are reasonable if you only need a card for a few months, such as a single event or a short contract, or if your company needs enterprise features like single sign-on and native CRM sync that only enterprise plans provide. For most professionals who keep the same card for years, a one-time payment is simply cheaper.

A quick checklist before you pay

  • What is the total cost over three and five years, not one month?
  • Is lead capture included, and are there limits on leads or scans?
  • Are you forced to buy physical plastic cards or is digital sharing fully included?
  • What happens to your card if you stop paying?
  • Can you export all your contacts as CSV or vCard?

Frequently asked questions

Are free digital business cards really free?

Free plans usually include a basic card with vendor branding and limited features. Lead capture, custom branding and analytics typically require a paid plan.

Do I need to buy a physical card?

No. Lifetime vCard is 100% digital with dynamic QR codes, wallet passes, and direct links. You never need to purchase or carry plastic hardware.

Is a lifetime digital business card worth it?

If you plan to use a digital card for more than about a year, a lifetime plan is almost always cheaper than a subscription, and your card keeps working without renewals.
